The sunflowers planted in our garden are doing well. None of them have opened yet, but they will do so soon. Although the colorful red sunflower in this photo still immature, it is already beautiful.
I spotted many of these tiny purplish blueish wildflowers growing on the sides of hiking trails and roads during our trip to The Blue Ridge Parkway this May. They are easy to spot because the grow in large groups and clusters.
